A Disney stroller rental is a good option if you have small children. Bonus it can be a pack rat’s best friend too. We share tips and lots of photos on how we pack a Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller to the maximum while navigating Walt Disney World Parks!
Security Guards at Park Entrance
You won’t get past security guards with a fully packed mule, but a stroller? No problem.
Security gates do not have to be a complete hassle with a stroller if you are prepared. Take out any bags from under the stroller before going through security. The security guard needs to identify what is under the stroller. Clearing the clutter by removing any bags will help to get through the line faster. Usually, security will allow things to stay stowed below during screening like stroller rain cover, ponchos, or water bottles.
Is a Disney Stroller Rental the right decision for your family?
There are vast opinions on the right decision when deciding if a Disney stroller rental is for their family. Consequently, before you finalize your decision read our post: Why a Walt Disney World Stroller will Significantly Save your Sanity.
Personal Experience: Our family did not take the stroller decision lightly. Converting to the minivan of Disney park travel is not an easy transition. However, once we took the plunge we never looked back. Honestly, when I see families without strollers, or without adequate strollers, I want to personally share my experiences. I notice parents struggling to push through the parks with a hunched back all the time. They awkwardly maneuver through crowds with plastic stroller wheels that are great for malls but not for pavement. Attempting to calm sweaty, screaming kids while managing not to drop all the baggage loaded on their shoulders and back is not the vision of a dream Disney Vacation.
Disney Stroller Rental Companies
There are many Disney stroller rental companies to choose from at Walt Disney World and I’ve personally tried three. The one company I kept going back to time and time again is Kingdom Strollers. Here are ways to maximize usage to for your vacation.
Once you decide on a rental company the next step is to choose the type of stroller. Kingdom Strollers breaks down each of their available strollers first by single or double options. They list out preferred height and weight requirements for your stroller type along with storage and tire options. See Kingdom Stroller’s FAQ page here for more details.
Packing the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller
Everyone knows that it’s good form to not leave your hotel room without specific park essentials. Yet, what many do not consider, merchandise purchases in the park will need space too! One caveat is that if you purchase something large or breakable you can have it delivered to your Walt Disney World Resort for free. However, when it comes to purchasing your child a toy or food item (popcorn bucket and refillable mugs come to mind), shipping to your room may not be an option. Have you ever purchased a child a toy followed by, 'You can have it later, OK?' Insert hysterical laughing parent here.Click To Tweet
Now, on to some stroller packing photos as promised…
The best way to keep water bottles easily accessible to your kids is to store the stroller rain cover in the bottom of the basket. The rain cover keeps the bottles in place without tipping or falling. It’s important to have non-sweating water bottles otherwise other storage items will get wet. Click on the photo to see my daughter easily access the water bottle by herself. This is so helpful when you are rushing to a ride or are caught in a crowd and your child wants a drink. They can access food and drink themselves without having to stop the stroller caravan in the middle of a busy Main Street.
